The interior dimensions of the mats are as follows:

• 8" x 10" mat = 5" x 7" photo opening
• 11" x 14" mat = 8" x 10" photo opening

These laser-cut mats are made from wood, so there will be natural variations in the finish of the product received. 

Tip: For a quick and easy stain, try thinning acrylic paint with a bit of water.
